Michael has received 3 GENIES, an ACTRA (the Ben McPeek award for Best Music for a Television Series "A Planet for the Taking"), the PROCAN award for "Outstanding Success in Film Scoring", GOLDEN SHEAF for video/short film, and the UBC Alumni Award for being one of the 75 top graduates in their 75 year history (Outstanding success in his field and bringing honour to the University).. Plus, of course, a JUNO for his Piano Concerto!! And there are also numerous nominations in all fields. It has meant a great deal to Michael to be honoured by his peers in the film composing field -- and it hasn't gone to his head!
